It’s almost basketball season and one of my nephews, Isaiah, will be a freshman guard on the Skyline H.S. JV basketball team this year. I had this idea for shooting Sai at dusk, with the sun setting behind him. But when I pulled up to the court, I knew I had to shoot him with the Superstitions as the backdrop! I put his dad, Frank, to work as the photo assistant for the evening, so most of these shots are off-camera flash either left or right of the camera at 45 degrees.
An experiment with some new software! I like it!
I got a chance to get on the sidelines and shoot at the Glendale Community College’s game this past Saturday. It’s a much improved team over what I saw last year. My cousin from Aurora, CO, Terrell T, is one of their starting cornerbacks (24) and one of the defensive captains. After this weekend’s victory over Pima College they sit at 4-0 and currently ranked #7 in the country.
It was a very busy weekend. My daughter, Jada, had a soccer game Saturday morning, then we stopped by and watch our little friend, Bryce, play little league touch football, and I ended the night in Glendale at a JC football game. So I’ve got tons of material to post. In between all of that, I was finally able to shoot Liz, who is a doll and a joy to work with. This multi-talented 13 year old is a brain, has done some modeling, plays soccer, and does some cheering as well. Here are a few of my favs!
